The Edmonton Community Resource Centre (CRC) is a logistical and distribution hub for The Salvation Army’s ministry units in Edmonton and the surrounding area. In addition to collecting and distributing resources used in the delivery of the programs and services that The Salvation Army offers in the Edmonton region, we are also responsible for volunteer engagement and recruitment, managing the Edmonton Christmas Kettle Campaign and Emergency Disaster Services for the Edmonton area.
What We Do
We are here to serve our Salvation Army ministry units and partners so that they can deliver The Salvation Army’s programs and services to those in need in the Edmonton area. We see them as our frontline operatives and we try our best to do whatever we can do to help them fulfill the above mission.
How We Serve
We focus on six components of service:
- Donor Engagement and Recruitment: Building relationships with the companies and people who donate goods for distribution to ministry units and the clients they serve.
- Logistics: Operating a system to accurately track, properly store and efficiently distribute donated goods to those ministry units that need them.
- Volunteer Engagement and Recruitment: Building community relationships with people who are the backbone of the services The Salvation Army provides.
- Christmas Kettles: Our main fundraising campaign that helps provide the financial resources for the services The Salvation Army provides throughout the city of Edmonton.
- Emergency Disaster Services: We manage the equipment, resources, training and recruitment of qualified volunteers so we are ready to respond when needed in the event of a disaster impacting the city of Edmonton. When not actively being used, these resources and equipment are also available for community events to help better deliver the message and values of The Salvation Army.
- Expansion of services: We strive to find new effective ways to serve Edmontonians and our local Salvation Army ministry units that fall within the CRC mission statement.
